Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmission efficiency without eliminating torque transmission without going through a continuously variable speed change gear when an infinitely variable transmission is in a high mode. SOLUTION: The infinitely variable transmission 1 comprises the combination of a continuously variable speed change mechanism 4, a planetary gear mechanism 5, and clutches 6, 7 for switching a power transmission route, thus performing an infinite speed change by a low mode for outputting inputted power by creating torque circulation by power transmission passing through the continuously variable speed change mechanism and the planetary gear mechanism, and a high mode for outputting the inputted power by power transmission through the continuously variable speed change mechanism. A brake 8 is provided to restrain the rotation of a racing element 53 in the planetary gear mechanism near the maximum speed ratio in the high mode corresponding to the high-speed drive of a vehicle, thus securing high transmission efficiency in gear transmission by switching a power transmission route to power transmission passing through the planetary gear mechanism by locking the brake. 【課題】無限変速機のハイモード時の無段変速機構を介するトルク伝達をなくすことで、伝達効率を改善する。 【解決手段】無限変速機1は、無段変速機構4と、遊星歯車機構5と、動力伝達経路を切換えるクラッチ6,7との組合わせからなり、入力される動力を無段変速機構と遊星歯車機構とを通る動力伝達によりトルク循環を生じつつ出力するローモードと、無段変速機構を通る動力伝達により出力するハイモードにより無限変速を達成する。車両の高速走行に対応するハイモードにおける最大速度比付近で、遊星歯車機構の空転要素53の回転を拘束するブレーキ8を設け、ブレーキの係止により動力伝達経路を遊星歯車機構を通る動力伝達に切換えることで歯車伝動の高伝達効率を確保する。 【選択図】 図1
